Transfer News: Tottenham Will No Longer Be Making A Move For Barcelona Star Andre Gomes

Tottenham have dropped their interest in Barcelona Andre Gomes, paving the way for Everton and West Ham to battle for the playmaker signature.

Spurs had been monitoring the situation with the 25-year-old, who impressed last season during a loan spell with the Toffee.
Sportsmail understands that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will no longer follow up on their interest in Gomes, who appears destined to switch permanently to the Premier League

West Ham made an opening move for the Portugal international earlier in this week, by bidding £18million offer to Barca.
Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini has identified the Gomes as a priority signing this summer and the club acted fast to try and get a deal over the line before being locked into a bidding war with Everton.
The offer was rejected by the Spanish giants, who are holding out for a fee closer to the £30m mark.
After abandoning a move for Gomes, Spurs are now set to focus their efforts on prising highly-rated England youngster James Maddison away from Leicester.

The midfielder flourished in his first season at the King Power stadium and racked up seven goals and seven assists following his £22.5million arrival from Norwich.

Transfer News! Man United Hopes Of Signing Matthijs De Ligt Boosted After His Demand

Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt, after the defender reportedly set down two key demands.
De Ligt is one of Europe’s most in-demand stars after a sublime season in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League , and has been heavily linked with both United and Barcelona.
While Barca appeared favourites to secured the deal, reports in Catalonia now claim the player has requested more money than the Spanish champions initially offered.
Mundo Deportivo also claim the 19-year-old has demanded guarantees regarding how many matches he will play.
Playing time appears much easier to come by at United, with the Red Devils looking to completely overhaul their ageing rearguard.
It is expected a defence would be built around De Ligt at Old Trafford, while at Barcelona several big-name stars are still fighting it out for a starting place.
The long-serving Gerard Pique remains a first-team starter at the Nou Camp, while Clement Lenglet often fights it out with Samuel Umtiti to feature beside him.
Another stumbling block for clubs in moving for De Ligt may well turn out to be the lofty fees of his agent Mino Raiola.
United are well-versed in dealing with the super-agent, having previously worked with him to bring the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba to the club.

Bayern president Hoeness confirms Leroy Sane interest

Leroy-SaneBayern Munich president Uli Hoeness confirmed on Thursday that the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions are considering a summer move for Manchester City winger Leroy Sane.Leroy Leroy Sane Kicker magazine reported earlier this week that Sane, 23, was “a candidate” for Bayern’s major transfer offensive this close season, and Hoeness confirmed the club’s interest to Munich-based newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung. “We are looking into the player (Sane),” he told the newspaper. The German winger was linked to Bayern before joining City from Schalke for 50 million euros ($55 million) in 2016. According to the Sueddeutsche Zeitung report, City coach Pep Guardiola is keen to keep Sane, but the club are looking to sell him. The Germany international is reportedly unhappy with a lack of game time, having started in just three of City’s last 10 league games. If Bayern were to sign him, he would be the first attacking player to arrive in what Hoeness has called “the biggest investment programme in our club’s history”. Bayern are making major changes to their squad as veteran players such as Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Rafinha leave the club this summer. They have already signed Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard for 35 million euros ($39m) and fellow French World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez for a club record 80 million euros ($89.4m).
